Greetings from a Swede
« on: January 31, 2014, 07:30:49 AM »
Hi,

I've been reading on this forum, PandaXE and LBC for a few months. I really appreciate this community and the knowledge shared by young and senior members. Thank you guys!

I'm a Swedish expat who has been living in Shanghai for a few years. Before my move to China I started out collecting old Swedish gold and silvercoins, then followed Perth Mint Kookas and bullion rounds when my interest for precious metals picked up.

After moving to Shanghai I got my first contact with Panda coins at some China Gold Coin shops and I just bought a few 1.9oz sets of 2011-12 Pandas. Problem was then to get them out of China! :-) Then one beautiful day I found the massive LuGong coin market where I bought some OMP and marveled at all the Pandas, Lunars, Peacock's, Unicorns etc. Wow!
Some months later after reading up on Pandas on the internet, meeting Yennus in Shanghai and attending a Hosane auction and buying a few more coins - I found myself getting hooked. I figuere I'm late to the party but will do what my fiat allows to catch up and also try to contribute here later.

Since I didn't extend my expat contract (not Panda related) I will move to Norway in May. That will make buying quality OMP coins at LuGong a memory but my plan is to buy more graded coins from ebay and other sites instead.

Alright, my rant became longer than planned.

I wish all a prosperous - Lunar Year of the Horse!

Hämta till mig ett par sällsynta Pandor när du åker till Norge då.  ;)

Hi AllSong,

Thanks for the greetings.

When I checked I found the hasselfree limit to take out gold and silver from China was abt 50gAu/500gAg. If you take out more I don't know if you should pay some tax or fee. I've taken out some more silver once by mistake, wasn't stopped at customs. Hopefully someone else at CCF has details about this.

Tack så mycket! That is very usefull info.

I will try to look it up myself, but of course help from other users is always welcome.

Luckily I will be going with someone who won't bring out any Ag (nor Au)---

Sounds like you have quite a start into the hobby already.
Welcome to this increasingly international forum, hopefully it will continue to be useful for you.
