Shipping to Germany
« on: January 22, 2014, 03:05:41 AM »
Guess I won't be shipping to Germany anytime soon again.  Got a USPS Registered Priority in Germany customs for over 3 weeks now.

Germany Custom has not released the package yet.

No wonder many sellers are not offering international shipping.

That can happen in every country. It's also not a good idea to ship coins around xmas.

Did you put an invoice including shipping costs outside of the package?
Is it stuck at the airport customs or near the destination?
Maybe they need some information and the request to your buyer disappeared?

Another reason may be that the VAT regulations for silver changed in Germany Jan first. VAT went up from 7% to 19%, but import duties stayed at 7% (under some conditions,i.e. investment silver coins). Very unusual situation and I suspect not all guys from customs know that.

Called international USPS hotline.  Agent stated that Germany Custom can has up to 45 days to release a package for delivery to recipient.
