Vault Protector coins are way cool and considered auspicious by Asians. Besides the 1990 1 troy ounce silver struck above, there is 1 other 1 troy ounce silver Vault Protector coin issued in 1998 (Tang) with a 10 Yuan face value. Also, there is a 1 troy ounce gold version of the Bao Yuan Vault Protector (also issued in 1990). There are  quite a few 1/10 ounce gold Vault Protector coins and some big Vault Protector coins from 5 troy ounce to 1 kilo (in gold and silver).

There is a connection between this "Bao Yuan" coin and panda - the DC zoo just recently named a new born panda "Bao Bao" so maybe you want to keep it until the connection is terminated?

Additional info: A 1/10 troy ounce gold Bao Yuan Vault Protector was issued in 1985. So, the Bao Yuan Vault Protector design exists in 3 different forms: 1 troy ounce gold and silver (issued 1990) and 1/10 troy ounce gold (issued in 1985).
