The only good thing about this market is that its weeding out the newbie gold buyers and so called refiners.

1200!

Now I'm gonna have to look at a chart,
wait for buy point.  I don't think we are there yet?

I had predicted Gold could drop as low as 1250.  I didn't pick this number out of this air.

Production cost is appx 1300. to mine. So we are at 1200. I cannot see it drop much further.

Of course it can.

Mr. Markets will always suprise us - who knows maybe even USD 200 Gold and USD 2 Silver.

Nice job on the office!!!!

If things stay relatively as they are, I see support
at 1200.  I suspect it will tread around this area
for several months.

If they break that, we are in for another big leg down.

I hear a lot different production cost prices. What is the general consenses of production cost for gold and silver.  Thanks

Hey that is a Great Question with a Great many answers.

If you listen to the big miners like ABX of NEM they'll both claim their operating margins on gold are under 1k an ounce.
I don't believe it. Look at their balance sheets. The cost to mine gold is huge and the cost for equipment, manpower, and copious other liabilities goes up constantly. The recent fall in pm prices will see mines shuttered and small companies fail.
The true cost to mine Gold, according to everything I know a real 1300 plus an ounce. Of course everyone will have a different opinion but that is how I've been basing my investments. The true cost of mining doesn't mean that the actual paper price of pm's will stay exactly the same but it shouldn't fall far from it. Noreal Roubini and other academics calling for Gold to fall below 1k are wrong in my opinion. Those who can DO, those who can't teach. Loved Rodney Dangerfield in Back to School. N17

At the time of typing this post gold is up to $1245, up from last week's low. Any hope that it will drop below $1200 again in the next few weeks?

It took 1.5-2 years for PM's to drop to these levels, and it will take 1-2 years to recover and hopefully make new highs. Is it possible for Gold and silver to break recent lows? Absolutely! They will have to drop and re-test recent lows , and that is the best scenario. They could break the lows and make a final bottom (or two). 950-1050 is a level to watch. Then, prices will go sideways for a while and then start trending higher!

Predicting is for fools, and I have been a fool many times. As an investor/trader, you have to be prepared for all scenarios. Have a 1-2 year plan to buy and sell at certain levels.

August isn't here yet. And I have yet to see a strong August in the last 4 years I have been trading. It always softens up comparing to june and july before it.
