...and the 1995 was a 68 !

The older Chinese silver dollars,  British trade dollars, and Hong Kong dollars did very very well.   Some are crazy new records.

It seems that Chinese coins will rise this year because people are going to throw money at coins.

For the mainland Chinese they will need to protect their wealth as their currency could go down in value, gold will be an important part of their strategy.  I am expecting a strong market in the coming 12 months.  Add to that supply is so limited in the US it won't take much for coins to go parabolic if someone decides to corner the market for certain coins.  This feels a lot like 2009, the calm before the storm.

The virus brought world attention to gold/silver.      At some point China will expose their huge gold bullion holding.      The world will wake up to Chinese money.      The best of Chinese money are rare coins/medals......

We are getting close to the end of cheap Chinese on ebay/elsewhere.     Again, RCC says global gold coin shortage.     Now is the time to buy, maybe your Covid check will help.....

Hi
I think the MCC are quite low in the Stacks Bowers Auction...why ..they arena`t traditionell Chinese coins ...designed in other countries ...accepted by China due to fill up their foreign currencies ...I think that is why they are not performing as good as older coins...
What are your thoughts?

My friend bid $6,000 for a coin that sold for $7,200 and called me to cry on my shoulder afterward. I won only one lot out of half a dozen that I bid on. Some lots sold for more than they brought very recently in China. Overall, I did not find prices to be weak for modern issues. Also, some lots would have tariffs to pay on them if imported into the USA. That extra cost is a factor.

Best wishes,

Very strong prices for the 96 and 99 1/2's in 68s.  Good to see.
