Excellent analysis by Jim Rogers. This documentary also offers some real insight into the importance of gold and what the current market is enduring.

I just tried the link from here and it works fine, I am not sure why you would be getting that message. I do have to watch a commercial before the program starts.

Is this "The Secret World Of Gold" documentary? If so it was originally available only to Canadians.
You can now find it on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vzge_rRdXHQ

Thanks NBN, no supprise but I am in Canada. Interestingly the link i gave works here but the youtube link doesn't. What did you think of the documentary? Does it give you any perspective on what the future of gold might be? I find it interesting that while western banks and governments seem to be depleting their physical gold reserves Russia, India and China are are increasing theirs. As MrOrganic points out in this discussion, Why Gold will be flat or GO DOWN!!!!! (General Discussion) There seems to be an anti gold sentiment growing in the West. But like religions gold has had its supporters for a very long time and like religions of the world, there are believers and disbelievers but they always survive.

http://www.goldmoney.com/gold-research/alasdair-macleod/physical-gold-vs-paper-gold-waiting-for-the-dam-to-break.html

I relate to this article very well.  Gold is viewed differently between the West and the East.  For the gold-hoarder mindset, 20% off gold price is viewed as an opportunity to buy, like 20% off a car price.  Whereas the gold-speculator mindset, 20% off means time to cut loss and get out.  Due to changing global economic condition, the number of gold-hoarders are rising and gold-speculators are falling.  It is increasingly difficult to influence physical gold price with paper gold price.  This is a case of ever lighter tail (paper gold) wagging the ever heavier dog (physical gold).

There has been an official "anti gold sentiment" in the US since Nixon defaulted in 1971, the emperor has no clothes?

There are rules or laws in this world in which we live that may be skirted for a time but eventually "gravity" has it's way and all will submit.

pandamonium stated in another discusion that, in Japan people are paying $500 over spot for physical gold. Sandac, it seems likly that this is "proof in the pudding" for some the arguments that are brought forward in the "Gold money" article that you posted. An excelent article by the way, thanks for posting it. Here is an article from my local newspaper that talks about the drop in bitcoin prices parealleling that of gold, and the actions of one of our major banks with regard to bitcoin exchange.
