The People’s Bank of China will release the gold and silver Putuo Mountain coin set that includes 5 (3 gold and 2 silver) coins, on Mar. 29th, 2013, all of which are legal monetary of People’s Bank of China.


1. Patterns


(1) Obverse patterns
 The obverse patterns of the gold and silver coins are the national emblem, country name and year of mintage.
 
(2) Reverse patterns


l         1kg round gold commemorative coin: South China Sea Guanyin Buddha statue, the landscape of sea, heaven, the sacred land of Buddha, the sea wave, the characters of “普陀山·南海观音(Putuo Mountain-South China Sea Guanyin Buddha) , face value.
l         5 oz round gold commemorative coin: Pilu Buddha statue, sea wave, characters of “普陀山·毗卢观音(Putuo Mountain- Pilu Buddha)”, face value.
l         1/4 oz round gold commemorative coin: Yangzhi Guanyin Buddha statue, cloud and sea wave patterns, characters of “普陀山·杨枝观音(Putuo Mountain- Yangzhi Buddha)”, face value.
l         1kg round silver commemorative coin: landscape of sea, heaven, the sacred land of Buddha, the sea wave, characters of “普陀山·海天佛国(Putuo Mountain-the sacred land of Buddha among sea and heaven) , face value
l         2 oz round silver commemorative coin: architecture of Puji Temple, sea wave, characters of “普陀山·普济禅寺(Putuo Mountain- Puji Temple)”, face value
   

2        Mintage and specifications
     
l         1kg round gold commemorative coin is proof, with content of 1kg pure gold, diameter of 90mm, face value of RMB10000 Yuan, fineness of 99.9%, max. mintage of 300.
     
l         5 oz round gold commemorative coin is proof, with content of 5 oz pure gold, diameter of 60mm, face value of RMB2000 Yuan, fineness of 99.9%, max. mintage of 3000.
l         1/4 oz round gold commemorative coin is proof, with content of 1/4 oz pure gold, diameter of 22mm, face value of RMB100 Yuan, fineness of 99.9%, max. mintage of 60000.     
l         1kg round silver commemorative coin is proof, with content of 1kg pure silver, diameter of 100mm, face value of RMB300 Yuan, fineness of 99.9%, max. mintage of 10000.
 
l         2 oz round silver commemorative coin is proof, with content of 2oz pure silver, diameter of 40mm, face value of RMB20 Yuan, fineness of 99.9%, max. mintage of 100000.

   
The set of cons are minted by Shenzhen Guobao, and franchised by China Gold Coin Incorporation.

What does reference price mean? Are these price for dealers pay to buy it from mint? If yes, would you know what is the retail price you would expect to pay for this 2oz?

I think those Prices are only for Marketing purpose, a New and inexperienced Collector /Buyer should believe that it is a average Price for Coin with 100 000 Pieces Mintage, in my opinion its way to much, i don't won't to offend nobody but for 180€ i rather Buy one Monkey King 1997 5 Yuan in OMP and enjoy a view of an rare and Beautiful Coin instead to wait for Milk spots to grow on those Putuoshan 2oz Mega Mintage Coin.
