I do not collect gold MCC due to price.  The demand for gold MCC keeps rising.  How long before all 1/20 gold pandas 1980's to 90's reach the $1,000 mark?  I made this comment a few months ago and it seemed silly then, not now (to me anyhow!).  The rare are there, the common are next.............Rare and spendy silver MCC are selling too .........

I think if we see Chinese telemarketing and TV sales start to rise, there are not enough coins for even a small number of Chinese to collect a date set.

If we see the number of Chinese coin dealers rise to a level like the USA, each one of them would need an inventory of some gold pandas.   Just that demand alone would consume all the good ones.

Maybe NGC/PCGS could make registry set sites in Chinese for Chinese collectors.   That could push prices higher just by itself!

So many ideas, so few pandas!

My family has a tradition of buying a gold coin for the arrival of a new member.   I think that's a common practice, so with one-child policy, I can see each grandparents buying gold for their precious grandchild.  I can see them doing it retroactively for major birthdays like the 10th or 20th.  If so, there maybe a special demand for 2003 and 1993 gold.  Have you notice anything like that?

Another great idea for coin sellers in China!

This may be a big thing for 1/10th gold pandas in the future.   The China mint is ramping up the mintages on 1/10th gold.

The mintage on the older coins would never be enough to supply the grandparents.

The same goes for older silver pandas which might make a good gift to the grandkids.

Pandas were born in China and now it is the time for them to go back home.

Yes, exactly!   When friends and other collectors ask me why I think there is an opportunity in gold pandas, I always say "because one day China is going to want their pandas back".

In the meantime, they give me great enjoyment - I think they're just beautiful...Pandas, Lunars, Unicorns, all beautiful designs.  I'm so glad I discovered them when I did.
