Thanks Flora for posting this. Do you know what the previous VAT rate was?

there's a blog/site i have bookmarked... he's running w/ this story/account

w/o any doubt this is quite sensationalized and in parts very speculative
so I for one took it w/ a few grains of salt... but it's topical so here goes

if info within article is debunkable... feel free to debunk
or if anyone has more reliable 1st accounting of the matter please chime in

His account is accurate however his assessment is incorrect, IMHO. He's not used to the crowds here.

I was just at CaiBai (the largest gold market in Beijing) last week, yes there were many people there but it's always like that there. I suppose for a visiting foreigner it might all seem a bit overwhelming.

With a population of over 20 million (permanent + non-permanent residents), the crowds here can get big.

Good article.  I will forward it.  Panic buying for real money, metals, is on the way.  It is a loaded spring ready to jump up in price but when?  Will the Chinese buyers start buying more MCC too?   Keep in mind the precious metals market is a very small fraction of the world market.  MCC are a small fraction of the precious metals market.  Tiny supply w/ huge upcoming demand.   For all you MCC collectors, I have this to say.....You are way ahead of the curve, you are in the right market.........

Thank you F Wang, I am searching for this information for long time. But, why the taxation hinder the repurchase of panda coins?
