Yes.... This is a fairly simple concept.  We sent about 40 or so Modern Coins, mostly MC and mostly Silver, to NCS to be CONSERVED ONLY....Without grading.  Then, when the coins were shipped back to us... We sent them to PCGS for grading/encapsulation.  So, you get the best of both Worlds; a conserved specimen that won't 'turn', placed in the industrys Premier holder.

Don't worry, the World isn't ending.

Good, you had me worried there for sec!

Thanks for the info, I had no idea NCS/NGC offered conservation only. Sounds like a hassle though, but if it gets you a higher premium, more power to u.

The person who bought this coin is crazy...... like a fox.  Their probable intention is to crack it out and keep sending it back to NGC until they grade it..... which they will.  OR, put it back in a capsule and sell it as is.... in which case some unsuspecting fool, thinking they just made a big time score, will buy it in haste for $4500+.

Welcome to the dark and dirty world of Numismatics.

Well, I hate to break it to you.... But, I have myself SEVERAL times over, cracked out so-called 'Details' NGC slabbed coins that came back with numerical grades.... I know a ton of my colleagues who have done the same.  So with all due respect, there goes your theory/belief about NGC not doing so.  It happens all the time.  This should really come as no big surprise, but NGC isn't exactly known for consistent grading.  Some impaired coins can be virtually impossible for novice/unsuspecting collectors/investors to discern, so Yes, it would be simple to pawn one off.  All of this stuff should really go without saying..... But now you(should) know.... Or not.

Before some "unsuspecting fool" from our beloved forum inadvertantly buys one of these coins, perhaps you should disclose which ones are former "so-called details" graded, or "impaired" pieces that have been resubmitted "SEVERAL" times?
I personally wouldn't want any unsuspecting CCF member to have something sub-par pawned off on them.

Uh... That would be NONE.  We have NEVER sold/traded a coin that falls into that category. The coins of which we 'crack out' and re-submit are ONLY sold with FULL DISCLOSURE.... and MOST times, the coins in said 'Details' holders, were perfectly fine to begin with and improperly holdered by NGC.   Just because I pointed out, IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THREAD, that this practice is certainly alive and well.... doesn't mean we, with ill intent, partake in it.  If anything, my comments regarding were to be taken as a cautionary tale..... BE CAREFUL!!!!  BUY THE COIN.... NOT THE HOLDER/GRADE!!!!!  I've sold around 300+ coins on this forum.... WITH NO COMPLAINT.... the nice folks here who have purchased from us know the standard of quality we provide.  I think we're as transparent as we can possibly be when it comes to what we sell.... and we're ALWAYS accessible.

If you- 'Panda Halves' have a personal issue with myself or any of my staff.... Feel free to PM me or call me... ANYTIME.  Otherwise, please refrain from personal attacks or vendettas.... It's petty and unnecessary.  There is nothing wrong with healthy debate or fair criticism.... But keep the personal tones to yourself.

To those who have once again pretty much cleaned me out.... Thank You for your continued business.  I promise you, it's much appreciated and NEVER undervalued or taken for granted.
