I read with interest the thread about 2001-D, since I have a few of them remaining of my early days playing MCC. This little bear can be yours for $450 USD, shipping from Beijing included. The panda has been sitting in my closet for several years, in its intact pouch, so it should be as close as original mint state as possible. See pictures below:

Tell me a bit about the pedigree of the coins.  Were they purchased in coin shops and around what time frame?

Wow, that was quick. I purchased these coins in 2007 in Beijing, at the Madian coin market. The 2001 and 2003 panda are my favourite designs :)
