NGC, PCGS, and coins in China
« on: November 11, 2012, 08:26:32 AM »
The major coin grading agencies have recently increased their focus on courting the Chinese coin market in Asia.

NGC Attends The Beijing International Coin Expo.  November 10, 2012.

PCGS At Korea Money Fair – Praised By Collectors And Dealers.   October 31, 2012

PCGS ASIA Intro to China Coin Forum.  Intro and activity starting October 4, 2012

I have a question for individuals who have been attending the Asian coin shows for a while.  Perhaps you can provide a viewpoint that is independent from coinweek/NGC/PCGS.  What proportion of the coins at the China coin shows are graded now, and how is this different from a few years ago?  How has the price premium for a graded coin versus an OMP changed in China?  What proportion of collectors in China are currently comfortable with coins slabbed by NGC/PCGS?  How quickly is sentiment changing?
