Mr. Cheng bought a set of 2012 gold panda coins as gifts to his friends. He found the coin price rose RMB1000 Yuan compared to the price early this month. Insiders explained, global gold price rise led to the gold and silver price surge.
The gold panda coins are the legal monetary of China, issued every year since 1982. Its price is close to gold as its has less Shengshui (the part of total price minus the material price) than other gold coins, for example, 1 ounce gold panda coin only includes about 8% Shengshui. It is reported, a totally 1.9 ounce 2012 gold panda (including 5 coins) hit the record high after its issue; a set of 2001 gold panda coin set is now selling for RMB19000 Yuan, comparing to RMB4700 Yuan when it was first issued.
Is the weight proportional to appreciation (price rise) for gold panda coin? Some collectors denied: the higher the weight, the smaller the mintage, and the harder for selling. Small coins such as the 1 ounce and 1/2 ounce panda coins are popular among investors for it sells well and is frequently transacted. Collectors should pay attention to the following points:
1. Price. Attach great importance to the rise and falling of gold price, as panda coins belongs to gold investment portfolio.
2. Mintage. The rarer the thing is the more it is worth. Generally mintage is proportional to its appreciation.
3. Long-term and short-term investment. Weather stock, painting and calligraphy, cultural relics, or gold and silver coins, are matter with long-term investment.
4. Do not invest blindly. Make reasonable investment based on your own capacity and financial status, and do not expect to rise to wealth overnight. In light of the different Shengshui for coins, it is suggested to buy the 1 ounce or 1/2 ounce gold panda coin, if you are targeted in coin investment. .
