I rotated the NGC pictures of Low P and overlay them.  I'm unable to find discernable differences.  I'm also not able to find differences with the Far P examples.  Here are the Low P and Far P set in animated GIF.  Click on the picture and wait a few seconds for the image to load and each image will display for two seconds and loop.

I decided to follow up on Peter's identification of the rotation on the BU variety ("Crooked 10" on pg 219 of 2nd edition) and get a tally of relative rarity.  Well, I got side tracked because there are no fewer than 4 varieties based on the position of denomination!  The best way to present that is with animated GIF below.  Click on the picture, wait for it to load and it will cycle through the 4 varieties with 2 second display time.  The coins being displayed are NGC 3681517-002, 3564661-006, 3559009-003, and 4079331-027.

The 1994 unicorn has a great number of text shift varieties.  Since 1668Chris started the ball rolling with the 1994 proof varieties, I thought this is a good place to gather all the text shift varieties.  The many varieties may due to the hand punch technique as mentioned by 1668Chris here: http://china-mint.info/forum/index.php?topic=9768.0

A better resolution picture of text shift varieties of 1994 BU S10Y unicorn mentioned in the above post can be found here: http://china-mint.info/forum/index.php?topic=10163.msg60754#msg60754

Today I want to show the text shift varieties of the gold 25 yuan.  I only have the shifted variety, specifically NGC 3539207-062, and I compare it to PCGS 20590202 because it is the best picture I can find on the web.  The first picture is a side-by-side comparison and the 2nd picture is an overlay of the shifted variety (gold foreground) on top of the normal variety (purple background).  The overall quality of the overlay is not sharp because the background normal unicorn is fuzzy at this magnification but you can see in the enlarged inset that gold "25 yuan" is shifted to the right of the purple background.  Similar text shift varieties exist for G10Y and G50Y.  I'm unable to find such shift in G100Y and I didn't try G5Y because NGC file photo qualities are too poor for this purpose.

Well, it took them a while but NGC finally recognized the high/low/far version of the proof 1994 unicorn.  I'm interesting to know when they'll recognize the various shifted denomination of the gold and silver 1994 unicorn.

NGC now recognizes the two varieties of the 20oz 150 yuan 1994 unicorn:
https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/5321/Modern-Chinese-Varieties-1994-Silver-20-oz-150Y-Unicorn/
Their diagnostic is the different cloud curl patterns under the unicorn's left front foot.  The differences are quite a bit more than that as discussed here:

I think the significant text shift is more noteworthy.

This same design feature or variety can be seen on various sizes of gold and silver 1994 unicorns..,,just check Peter's book.  I am wondering if the master hub for the obverse was just shrunk in size to accommodate the different denominations?
