shiny gold-plated 1984 pagoda
« on: June 05, 2012, 11:18:05 AM »
If Shanghai Mint minted them, then NGC will follow the step of the goldfish to certified them?

How will these affect our initial opinion of "fake" or plated pagoda in the past?

I think everyone is waitng to hear from NGC on the authenticity of the graded silver pagodas.  Maybe that response will answer most questions.  I have questions too............

I have come across this gold plated set as well.  Although the set I found had a different box.  I didn't purchase the set and quickly assumed it was fake.  Now I'm not so sure I can still get my hands on it and post some photos.  But I guess I have to ask.  Does anybody care?  Or are we all just waiting for some official word on the varieties that China released.

Weird box  is to me a warning sign in and by itself.  Looks like something candy should come in. Now this one, I'd give an allowance to be a possible fake.
Would be cheap to make these.  Or someone take a gamble and let us know...

This whole category, the pagodas and goldfish, has gotten rather bizarre...

I think this plated set is fake too. Don't know about the seller.  The goldfish are getting sorted out first.  The pagodas should be next.......
