An interesting Yuan Shih Kai dollar
« on: May 24, 2012, 05:46:57 AM »
Hello,

Today I found an interesting YSK dollar at the market. Has anyone seen one like this before? This is the first time I see one with such a strong minting error. The edge is interesting too, it is completely blank, but at some place you can see a bit of the reeded edge "over" the blank area.

I think this coin is broadstruck rather than off-center. I made a blog post about it, http://www.dragondollar.com/coins/mint-errors/broadstruck-fatman-dollar/ , I would be interested in your opinion :)

Dear dragondollar,

Sorry, for answering you so late but your "new" YSK error silver dollar is beautiful! I love it... :001_wub:
I haven't seen such of coin here in Shanghai. So even it is common fatman 1914 with this type of error it is rare piece!
Thank you for sharing!
I have seen a little bit similar Junk dollar 1934 which has a small minting error on obverse I believe but on reverse is it looks normal so it is not so interesting like yours. Congratulation! Good stores you have over there in Beijing...and many interesting YSK coins :001_rolleyes:
