I even call them, they promised to call back nearly a month ago. So far no one called me back.

I understand that NGC will also be opening a branch in Hong Kong. Can anyone confirmed this and if so, when?

Hello,

There will be onsite grading at the Ma Tak HK coin show. The upper 2nd room will be dedicate for PCGS.

  See you there

By the way, how does on-site grading works? Are the coins slabbed "on the spot", or just collected for grading later? I may be quite interested in grading a part of my collection, actually. The tide is changing mainland, more and more serious collectors slab their coins now... I already have a PCGS subscription, but only slabbed a few coins for now due to the trouble to send them to the US from Beijing (and the long delay to get them back).

Do I need to make a booking? I just want to slab my Pandas and leave my cultural coins as OMP.

What on earth is "Declared value"?

Hmm, does anyone there have experience with Chinese customs policies for sending coins to HK? Technicaly it is a SAR of the PRC, so I guess it does not qualify as exporting cultural artifacts out of the country... But it is much safer to not "guess" if I send a package full of expensive coins. Modern coins collectors are lucky to not have to bother about these regulations!

Here is an updated link for PCGS Hong Kong:

http://www.pcgsasia.com/submit?l=zh-CHS

In regards to "declared value", that is where you state the item is worth - in the case that a claim needs to be made.

Usually a customs form might say "items for appraisal and return" - in regards to specific policies, I am uncertain.

I CAN say that I regularly see coins at the main office that were submitted from all over the mainland - repeatedly.
So, they aren't having any issues...

I have a question for PCGS:

For coins received in PCGS-Asia office, do you do grading there on-site or you ship them back to the States? Thanks.

If we are on-site, the grading is done there.

Otherwise, they are shipped back securely.

Do you normally have any graders in your HK office?
Thanks.

Graders are normally at the main office in the states.
