THIS YSK dollar with SOVIET counterstamp is sooooooo RARE coin!!! :w00t: :001_tt1:
This is mission impossible coin to get. I have never seen any genuine only on picture here:
http://home.netvigator.com/~ykleungn/yuansk2.htm
He said SOVIET counterstamp appears only on YSK 1914 and 1919 dollars
This link proves that it also can be found on YSK dated 1921
Wondering about YSK 1920...?

It looks good to me! - I too have one that I consider authentic as well as one that's fake. I don't believe the story by ykleungn as it is presented. He was operating in Shanghai under KMT control. Getting caught with SOVIET money of any kind was a serious crime. In those times were there tourists wanting to snap up unknown coinage? I think there were people striking the LENIN portrait fantasies but look at the quality of those - a real colletors item, as you see today. The SOVIETS were striking YSK dollars, supposedly into the '40's, they go for a high price today. I've bid on some but never get close to a win. These are described most recently in the last couple of years in the HK Baldwin auctions. These SOVIET counterstamps are even rarer on copper minors - see more than one of these on my site:

Well, I try to avoid buying fatman 1914 with Soviet counterstamp. There are many cases that chinese coin dealers do a lot of scams with common YSK 1914 and ask someone to made counterstamp for them on ther common fatman 1914. So when you will check the coin it seems ok but you should also check counterstamp. I would only buy this coin from now on in a reputable and a famous auction house.
