Not sure how I did it, but CC1411 and CC1412 are both pointed to the same specimen, 3540797-016, but without the indication of duplicates.

3540797-016 found entered as CC1411, CC1412, type [[ | ]]. '.

It looks like you found a rare bug that occurred when you reused the same form twice, probably by using your browser's back button. It was a problem from the beginning, and I had it on my to-do list to fix, but I was procrastinating until the problem actually happened. It is fixed now. It will take a few minutes for the site to update and show the duplicate correctly. Once I have verified it, I will delete the duplicate.

Good find, SANDAC!

I would be interested in volunteering to help test or if you need PCGS Panda pictures etc.

Been a lurker here, but in IT by profession although still without one of those, so I could definitely help out and do something constructive  :001_smile:

Thanks,
G

Images needed! We're entering in data for all the different coin types, but we don't know what all the coins are until they get images. If you have some you want to share, you can upload it yourself, or just make it available to us so someone else can do it.

Thanks!

Are there official coin images from China mints that we can use as place holders?

I'm not sure, there might be. I'm uploading some MDM COA's which have images, but I don't think the ones I have are enough to be useful, since you have already uploaded very good images for most of the COA's I have.

Love the way you did CCT2.  A nice summary of the varieties with pictures.  A tally of the various varieties on the same line is genius.  I'm going to plagiarize that script and use it on all my historical figures.

Go for it! It should look very nice once you are done. There are a LOT of historical figures to keep track of!

I just made CCT2 even more awesome. It now calculates grade rarity too. I may simplify that code later, so it's easier to use.

unbe-freaking-livable!  Very useful capability.  After the database is populated, I want to answer two questions.  1.  What's the percentage distribution of grade from 1979 to now, and 2. What's the percentage distribution of "blind submission" where dealers submit large quantity of coins without first filtering them.

I just started adding code to have it automatically generate mintage estimates and maximum possible 69+ grade estimates, and then I realized my code was a mess. I need to spend more time planning that, and then I can add that code to ALL types. At one glance, you will know all the important facts about each type in the entire Coin Compendium! Those are facts that no one has had easy access to before.

Never before in the history of numismatics has so much information been available...and it's not even out of testing yet! Nearly any important fact you want to know can be easily mined out of this monstrous database. One thing I'd like to see is a chart of the rate that counterfeits appear. It should be a useful tool for identifying a big counterfeiting operation, and pushing it out of the market.

Speaking of that, I added a newly identified fakes list near the top of the main page. That should help to quickly alert people if fakes are hitting the market for coins they buy. I..I..I think I'm in LOVE! Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi Badon:  Can I get on the CC list?  Would like to focus on medals and other rare mint coins.  Only have 1 yr experience but will help when possible.  Need to learn how to upload photos and all that too......Thanks....pandamonium
