I agree! Even in only the testing, the Coin Compendium is working out well in sharing the impressive research SANDAC has done on these coins. Thanks SANDAC! Your work makes this Coin Compendium project of mine really worthwhile. I'm super pleased to see that it is so effective in sharing research, even in this early stage.

god knows where DN06 WSP? went.... its on the front page, but not under the type, nor subtype... I added annotations, maybe that has something to do with it.... it should be there with the others.... would be nice to have a spotted coin in the image gallery too

We need to put the small armor variety next to a normal coin to compare the annotations. I'm not sure yet, but it is possible that this variety is an important design change, and not just a variation in frosting and polishing. If that is true, it will be the most important historical figures variety discovered so far. Much study is needed!
I am currently distracted working on technical stuff - Or maybe I'm distracted by SANDAC's research :)

I will look to see what happened to it. The site is updating itself with changes, so things might disappear and reappear later.

I found the problem. The image gallery was limited to 20 images. I increased it to 500. If there are more than that, I need to make a link that goes to "further results". I will put that on my to-do list.

Also, I fixed the sorting so the newest (or most recently changed) photos will show up at the start of the image gallery.

Well, good! I'm glad you agree it is a different variety. It is not the number of armor plates that convinced me. It is the lack of deep grove between the body of the general and the background. It is hard to photograph, but it is very clear if you examine it in person. BTW, the small armor variety is relatively scarce, something in the order of 1 in 10 based on my observation of the eBay auctions. I agree CC is a great place to do research where photo can be shared with discussion and trial taxonomy backed up with sightings and NGC/PCGS photo database. It is similar to my own research infrastructure, but the communal aspect of it quicken the pace and make it so much more lively. I do have the advantage of copying photos all over the internet on my local drive for quick comparison. As long as I don't publish these photos, I don't have to worry about copyright issues like CC does.

It's definitely a different variety, at least judging from the photo. Like I said, it would be nice to get a side-by-side comparison so we can see the annotations for both types, and compare them easily. If it passes that test, the only question that remains is how important the variety is. It already appears to be important, but finding evidence that it's a design change would be very exciting!
"Taxonomy" is a good work. It's a potential alternative to "hierarchy" to describe the whole arrangement of types. I'm still working on adding some fancy features to the type system that will aid navigation and presentation of available data, and I'm close to being able to test it. Once I do, I'll probably be able to give more thought to terminologies.

On CCT25 under the "introduction" heading, you have two KK side by side. How do you add pictures in the intro.........
Well silly me, I can answer this question, just click "edit" and see what you did...

Yep, that's right. You can just change the file names and the titles. If you want to do more than two, I suggest not using the "wikitable" and instead just using the images. Putting this at the top of the page or a section in the page (with the little edit links):

Will put the pictures on the page, and anything you write about the them will be nicely on the left of the images.

Here is a question. I annotated both pictures, but they don't show the annotation boxes when my mouse is hovering over them. When I click the picture, then the annotation shows up. This is w.r.t. CCT245

you probably need to fully reload the page. Usually that can be done by hold down the shift button on your keyboard, and then clicking "reload". That will force your browser to dispose of its old cache of the page, and go get a fresh version that has your annotations added.

Hmmm, that didn't do it. I even tried the "Force a cache refresh for this page" under maintenance block, no difference.
Oh, check out CCT13's introduction. I added some comments about naming of the terra cotta figures, some of them in Chinese. It works.
