I don't know much about the older Chinese coins but I decided to buy a couple from my local dealer had. I would like your help with :

1) Do chopmarks add value to the coin? [that is what the dealer said]
2) How much are they worth +-?

THanks :)

Attached are sales of AU55 1934 Junks on Ebay.

Chop marks lower the value of these coins.

Thank you so much. That is very helpful info. Any idea about the value of the 1914 one with the chopmarks?

Well, the value of an XF40 is about $135. From what I can tell, that is about what this coin would grade. So with the chops, I would put the value at about $100. Just my opinion.

Dear g3globe,

Dooney is right. However is China, for example in Shanghai if you wanna buy such of chopmarked YSK dollar you have to spend from 200-250$. About Junk dollar 1934 AU you have to spend 280-360$.
I think your YSK 1914 dollar is very beautiful and those 4 chopmarks make it more attractive-beautiful coin! Congratulations and Junk dollar 1934 also looks very nice! Don't regret money which you spent, there is a history marked on this Fatman dollar.
