Snowball

Please let me know the way to upload the picture. There is a very good chance that the above mentioned ebay item may be removed by ebay shortly. I have copied the picture of this PCGS coin. In case ebay removes this item, I still can upload the picture here for every body to see it. Thanks.

Here is another fake PCGS slab, 1908 Empire dollar, KM-Y14, PCGS AU 50 (seller: yoshi2087)  Pictures of this fake slab are given in the attachment of this post  for future reference, in case ebay remove this listing shortly.

http://cgi.ebay.com/1908-PCGS-AU50-China-Qing-Silever-coin_W0QQitemZ280422144392

Pedigree from Heritage (May 30, 2007, Long Beach as in the following link) is in a PCGS old green holder. The fake slab, which is in a newer version of PCGS holder, has the identical cert. # and coin # to the pedigree coin, but the barcode is incorrect and coin inside the holder is also fake. The pictures of Heritage Auction coin is also given in the attachment as reference.

Looks like the 1908 dollar was removed by ebay.

I wonder why did ebay has not removed the Yuan shi kai dollar yet? Anybody reported it?

All fake PSGS slabs were reported to ebay as well as PCGS.

Seller "yoshi2097" has a low feedback (single digit) and also listed many fake trade and morgan dollars at the same time. I expect this seller will be suspended shortly.

Seller "global-trading-cn" is a "Top Rating Seller" and has a feedback more than 1700 with 100% positive. There is no question that ebay treats seller based on the ablility to contribute the bottom line of the ebay. All items listed by this seller are quite rare and expensive. There are three coins have a BIN value in five figures (two of them more than $50,000).

PCGS is very slow in reacting to fake PCGS slabs. This seller claims to be a PCGS and NGC dealer and ANA member in seller's "me" statement.

Seller "golobal-trading-cn" received a negative feedback on Nov. 13.

The buyer left the followong:

COUNTERFEIT COPY COIN!!! ANACS AUTHENTICATED!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! theemuel ( 643)  Nov-13-09 16:45

This seller just made all listing as "private". Ebay has not removed those fake PCGS slabbed items yet.

This seller has three new listings of UNC gold pattern coin with BIN price at five figures. They are "raw" coins.

Very interesting!

The seller "yoshi2097" who is selling fake PSGS slabs just left a feedback to "global-trading-cn", another known seller of fake PCGS slabs. Both sellers are referered in this topic.

PCGS just places a limit of libility to cover grading and authenticating of world coins, especially, Chinese coins. Here is the link to the news article.

http://www.pcgs.com/articles/article_view.chtml?artid=5972&universeid=313

The following is the copy of part of the letter regarding libility limit of Chinese coins.

"We are also making two important changes to the PCGS Grading Guarantee effective for PCGS graded world coins and copper coins graded or sold after January 1, 2010. For world coins (i.e. non-U.S. coins), we will have a limit on our guarantee of $10,000 per coin. And for Chinese coins, we will have a limit on our guarantee of $1,000 per coin."

Apparently, PCGS has a difficulty time to differentiate fake rare Chinese coins from genuine and does not want to grade and authenticate the rare Chinese coins any more.
