Anyone up for a Challenge?
« on: May 03, 2011, 10:06:56 PM »
I'm new. I found you guys by looking for information. I'm a pretty good researcher on the net and other places but I am stumped! I admit I don't know much about Chinese coins, so I hope you can help me out. I can't find any info on this coin/medallion/commemorative and it is driving me crazy.

Here is what I do know: It is not a medal given to winners of the 43rd world table tennis championship. I believe it is gold plated.(Hopefully silver underneath!) It is heavy for it's size.(I don't have a scale, sorry.)The box translation is:(from my son's 3rd grade Chinese teacher)Top two lines: The gold plating medal for the 43rd world pingpong table tennis championship contest. It is kind of DMPL.

Bottom: Made by Panyang Factory. The producer is Tianjing Branch of China Construction Bank.

Well there it is. I don't even know how close the translation is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a lot more pics.
