Here is another "worthless" medal that i post about usually on badon's site.    Of course i am in the medal camp due to low mintage and unknown info on them.    Not all consider medals worthless as there are many medal collectors and that group is growing...

1971  Mao  "learn"   silver       bids are over $400 now                  Ebay 362311875028....private bidders,  Chinese bidders?...

I was trying to get some info on the medal here, but nobody responded, so I have just listed it on ebay as it is....
Do you have any information on it, please?

That is the only image I could find.
If it was European medal, I think there would be quite a few elsewhere, it is first time that I was not able to gather any info, and I am collecting mailny bread jetons, so know that not all info is online.

All of Aragog's listing for circulating proof sets are doing very well:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/China-KMS-Mint-coin-set-1995-1-fen-1-Yuan-Circulation-coins-PROOF/362311811806?hash=item545b7782de:g:W40AAOSwh5ha7XHv

I am positively surprised. If I remember well, I sold 2000 PROOF sets cheaper than some of PROOF sets now. I think only few items sold cheaper than I bought. And I did a lot of purchases at top in 2011.
There are not enough offers for real numis items from PRC

Congrats...your sets did very well.

Were buyers from China, US, or Germany?

I started buying these sets several years ago from Germany since they were just not available in US.  With only 10k minted (or 20k I forget) they should do well since the coin collector base in China is much larger than for MCC.

None of sets was sold to PRC this time, despite lots of offers off ebay. All sets and other Chinese coins go to US, Germany and Australia, including big dealers.
And a few years back, most of sets were sold to China mainland or Hong Kong.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/323305768339

I was the leading bidder until the final seconds, I thought I might sneak away with it for only $8k. Went for $9900 which I think was still a bargain.

The last recorded sale of the full set in PA's Pricepedia was back in 2010 for $72k! I know it's not worth nearly that much today, but still... wow!

What was the item?  The link gives "The listing you’re looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you.".

1980 Olympic Silver Proof Piedfort Proof Coins Complete Set

When it takes you to that page, click the word "listing" in the message at the top that you just mentioned.

If it was bogus, they probably ripped the images and description from a prior auction on ebay or another marketplace. So there should be some record of it out there somewhere.

I do think it was a fraudulent listing now. The seller messaged me saying "Hello, winning bidder is still playing around with the payment. So the coins is still available. Please let me know if you still interesting. Thanks"

For a US-based seller since 2010, selling this item, I would not expect those kind of typos. I think a scammer hijacked the seller's account, and was smart enough to list a coin set due to the seller's previous feedback being for coins. And was somehow smart enough to choose an obscure listing for the piedfort set.

A line in the auction description said "Having dealt in these coins for over 30 years this is the only complete set of these rare piedforts I have ever handled." I would like to know who originally wrote that. Clark? Jay? Martin?

I hear ya, Eric!  However, maybe the seller is Chinese (or other) American with poor English!  Hmmm

That thought did cross my mind, but then the language used in the first paragraph of the description would be too good.

I just did a bit more googling, and I did find evidence of a prior identical ebay listing:

http://chinacoinset.info/2018/01/china-rare-1980-olympic-silver-proof-piedfort-proof-coins-complete-set/

At the end of the scraped ebay listing on that page, it says-

The item “China RARE 1980 Olympic Silver Proof Piedfort Proof Coins Complete Set” is in sale since Tuesday, January 02, 2018. This item is in the category "Coins & Paper Money\Coins\ World\Asia\China\Mixed Lots". The seller is "lvphantoms" and is located in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

That is a different seller than the recent auction from "mccrafting". I looked up that seller "lvphantoms" and from the looks of it, that auction was probably fraudulent too as they don't deal in coins.
