Strange unknown Chinese medals
« on: June 06, 2020, 07:39:05 AM »
Strange, unknown Chinese medals are seeing some more demand.    Collecting is fun so why not?    If made of gold/silver then they have a bright future.    If not, then who knows?    Maybe one of 5 or 10 will be rare.    It could be educational.
Hopefully this topic will help collectors to show and possible get information on them....

Here is my about cheap  1941 silver? dragon Heilongjiang University OMP medal box.    In the mail so no reverse photo...
1941 is first year for Heilongjiang University and it is still open....

Big God of Longevity gilt brass  70 mm    Semi official Liaoyin Mint.     Artists are retired from Official China Mint - Song Jinmin & Song Wenyuan that went to work at Liaoyin.     I have never seen one in US ebay and seller in China says 1 for sale in 5 yrs.     (Have seen other 60 mm God gilt brass from Liaoyin Mint but not this one)    A real big beauty in hand.    Some gilt brass are outstanding and worth collecting....

The 1941 box looks too new to be that date, maybe it was struck to celebrate the first year of the University.   I don't know, i am a yankee.   I like the date/design/price...

see photos    1910 Foreign inspection silver medal    -bid-     ebay 254695623629
Seller has other coins/medals too including a 1911 50C silver dollar dish for $12,000 w/ 16 watchers.     More info/books are coming out, hopefully more info on unknown medals...
Demand is strong for Vintage silver dollars so could that happen for some early year or Vintage medals/coins?...
I see more bids/watchers for early year unknown medals.   Cheap gamble.....

1939 3C Omnibus token   rare?   $232.50  SOLD bids    Ebay 333695104674

New collectors, this is not gold/silver, not coin/medal but a bus token that is graded.      Chinese collect many things we would never think of.     Now is the time to buy coins/medals.
Bullion will jump up as $ trillions of dollars and millions of people flood into bullion.    Most articles say we have no clue to upcoming demand and i believe them.    Chinese coins/medals will be the best of bullion and they will be valued way above bullion.....

1990 5 pc Proof Gold Panda set OMP box   $4,691.54  SOLD  APMEX    Ebay 143681332179

Same seller has this 1910? Western City Hospital silver medal listed...see photos....about 3 days left

Have been collecting these worthless junk unknown medals for a few years and have a bunch of them including a 1930's bus token.    They were very cheap back then.    Today a few of them have gone up in value higher than official mint...
Lets see how the market plays out for worthless junk unknown medals.....

1985 1Y Tibet sold for $910.    Some collectors have information on these unknown medals and are bidding them up.    Wonder why this one has a satin finish?......

1910? Western City Hospital silver medal   $330  SOLD
Who are all these bidders for unknown medals?    Looks like my cheap unknown medals deals are coming to a end.    Probably due to all the new books....

1890-1908 20C Kwangtung silver dragon has NGC pop of about 990 (or 1,000).     Even w/ high graded pop, prices keep moving up.    Vintage must be low supply, when low grades get good bids.    If you do not own them, buy them now.    I am sure prices will keep climbing.    Like the dealers tell me a MS grade is hard to find so AU is next best choice.    Have posted about these Vintage silver dragons for some time and they are a wise investment.....

All 4 legit graders grade Vintage.    NGC  PCGS  ANACS  ICG
