This year is the 35th Anniversary of Panda Commemoratives which began with the 1oz silver issued in 1984 for the 3rd Hong Kong Exposition.

The Shanghai mint will strike a special issue to commemorate the 35th anniversary and they will be distributed at the Long Beach Expo in both June and Sept 2019.

Imagine buying (or even seeing) a 5 kilogram gold medal with a total mintage of five.  Wow!  Will you have this on display at the Long Beach coin show?

I had the opportunity to hold one of the 1991 10th Anniversary 5 Kilo gold pandas.  It was quite memorable !     Nobody wants to sell one of them.    One collector that has one got cold feet when it got close to actually selling it, he decided to keep it.

We should have one for the September show on display at Long Beach, but not yet confirmed.   It needs some extra security...

Clark

Remember when a thief attempted to sell stolen merchandise at the Long Beach show.  One of the guards at the door tackled the thief.  Maybe, you should hire the same guard to stand by the display.  He certainly knows how to tackle without causing real harm to any perpetrator.

This commemorative medal should weigh about 160+ troy ounces of gold.  This should be large enough to make it easy to see the detailed pictures in the circles.

It won't be easy to run with a 5 kilo gold panda.   Your arms will be both used to hold it and the weight will slow you down a bit.....

They have a glass square display box for display.

Now, who has the 1991 10th Anniversary 5 kilo gold to display at the same time ?
