« on: February 08, 2018, 05:40:46 PM »
Dear forum members!

Please help with price and info about this set. How rare is this type of set without medal?

In internet i found only one auction listing with 3000-5000usd estimate, but set was not sold.

Wow, Fantastic set! Never heard of the this “version” or seen it, but very interesting indeed. Sets like this are what keeps me hunting for that next hidden treasure even in a slow market. Although it’s been awhile since my last great find. Anywayz, thanks for sharing and I hope to learn something new from the experts on this one. Btw hope you got a good deal!

PandaQuest, tank you for interesting!

To get good deal first will be good to understand what to do :)

In on hand - sell as is if it is real rare like a set

In other hand send to ngc with conservation.

Problem is - my Chinese is  -100 level :) may be somebody can check 001? Was there selling in some past...

This 1983 proof set was packed in a special rare folder. The design of the coins are identical to the green holder with temple of heaven cover. This is one of very few OMP to have a valuation much higher than graded set. The last auction was in 2014 with a final value of RMB 12,800 which was much lower than the reserve, therefore did not sold.

The detailed pictures of this set can be find in the follow link.

Here is link to a high graded set (PR68) in older NGC holder. The final valuation was RMB 11,000. The average grade for proof circulated coin is about PR66.

Mirkkanen, Poconopenn and Fwang (in PM get answer) - thank you for interesting information!

I can draw a conclusion that:

1) this white type OMP is better than send to NGC.
2) nobody know current price for it. It can be 1500-5000usd
