Tai-Ching-Ti-Kuo Silver Coin
« on: December 11, 2017, 09:25:07 PM »
Hi, I was wondering whether this Tai-Ching-Ti-Kuo Silver Coin (obtained in Hong Kong) is authentic.

I have attached pictures of the coin to this thread.

Details are as follows:
- 26.75g weight
- 39mm diameter
- Non-magnetic
- Made a ringing bell-like sound when lightly tapped with another metal (ringing test for silver)
- Ice cube melted immediately upon contact with coin (ice test for silver)

Thanks for any assistance provided.

1907 Empire dollar LM-20, K-212 in AU or MS condition: weight and diameter within reference values.

This coin is extremely rare and likely an accurate silver replica. Reverse face is missing denticles around inside rim edge. Obverse fields have light spots that might be raised pimples, evidence of imperfect impression die.
