Actual mintage of 1995 and 1998 gold pandas
« on: December 01, 2017, 11:54:11 PM »
The newly published book “Gold and Silver Coins of China, Standard Catalogue, 1979-2017” provides actual mintage of some gold pandas from different Mints. The following pictures show the actual mintage of 1995 and 1998 gold panda copied from this book. The mintages from Shenyang Mint are in consistency with the books from Shenyang Mint, except 1995 1/20 oz. and 1998 ½ oz., which I believe to be typo.

Attached also a table which I prepared, based on data from books published by China Gold Coin Inc. and Shenyang Mint. Clearly, the actual mintages of Shanghai Mint are different from this book.

In 2001 China Mint had melted down large quantity of gold and silver coins. Therefore, the mintages given in Shenyang Mint  books should be considered as the max. mintage, since both books were published prior to 2001. The total mintage published by China Gold Coin Inc. in 2007, IMO, may already exclude the coins melted down in 2001.
