I was especially surprised that two of my 1999 CHINA PANDA LARGE DATE PLAIN 1 turned out to be MS 70. If I understood NGC census right, there are only seven of those?

Great results. Did you cherry pick the ones you sent? Any of them went through NCS?

Thank you so much for your feedback :-) In fact, there are only few 68 and only one 67, but the Panda coins are (from my point of view) generally struck in a very good quality, so I assumed that it might not be too hard to score an MS 69.

In fact, I did some cherry-picking, but my first NGC lot came from two Panda silver lots that I bought on eBay and one set of Munich panda medals. So I assume that I was very lucky, as most of the coins from the two ebay lots went to NGC (no NCS cleaning before).

So did you do NCS for your submissions? Did NGC suggest you some coins may be graded better if you do the NCS?

So did you do NCS for your submissions? No.

Did NGC suggest you some coins may be graded better if you do the NCS? No, do they do that?

And what is your personal opinion? I heard some people say that you should always let NCS conservate the coins before grading?

Yes, occasionally NGC makes a recommendation that a particular coin may fare better by going through NCS first.

Ever since I got some unexpected 68s on silver 1 oz coins I felt were 69 quality (not going thru NCS), I simply quit submitting silver coins :)

You can also ask NGC to send NCS any coin they feel will benefit from conservation, if you are not sure. Even without that they may occasionally communicate findings such as residue and a recommendation to conserve the coin.

Oh my goodness! These are fantastic for a first submission without any NCS conservation.

Thank you so much for your feedback :-) But to be honest, I did a lot of cherry-picking before. I ordere some complete Panda sets on eBay and picked the coins that looked the best in my eyes. And I have to give a lot of credit to "Numistacker", whom I have been following on YouTube for months :-) So I was at least a bit educated in grading before preparing the first submission :-)

Thank you, GoldenLord :-) I also need to give you a lot of credit for your grading advice ! The guys at NGC Munich always ask about "the young couple from Bavaria" :-)

Very impressive results, with my first submission I also got a few very sought after MS70's, but since then have yet to receive the elusive 70-grade again, cherish the feeling, it's a great one!

:-) Thank you so much ! I heard about this "First Submission Bonus" phenomenon before ... maybe my next submission should be placed unter the name of my uncle ;-)
