AN-WHEI CHINESE DRAGON COIN---NOT SILVER BUT COPPER...
« on: July 03, 2017, 03:08:57 PM »
I have a coin that looks like the silver coin but is made of copper. Have had it in a box of coins from a missionary in China before the Communist rule. No clue about the age. I have been looking at others from the Hu Peh Province dated 1902, Kiangnan Province dated 1905, Tai Ching Province dated 1903-1911.....all copper. Same with the Hopoo province and Honan province. Brings back a lot of history from classes in college.
But interested in the AN-WHEI coin. Any ideas on it? Where can I get some help as to the value of it?

Hello,

Try matching your collection to 10 cash in this PCGS web page / Chinese coin catalog. It has pictures and prices fot making rough estimates: http://www.pcgs.com/prices/china.aspx

Look under the Empire and Provincial sections. Write back if you need more help. Post pictures with good detail shows the coins' more subtle features.
