Nice, on my want list too, love the Sinkiang dragons, they have a goofy but lovable look.

:001_smile:  Do you find these in local coin shops, online auctions, or somewhere else?  I now fear the high quality fakes on some of those older silver coins too much to stray very far from buying from dealers of highest reputation.  I bought one of those graded 1908 Y-14 dollars in 2010.  I still have it as a gem in my collection of older silver crowns.

There are key details to look for with the fakes..........and none of those issues were found......................these were also purchased from a large international auction house.

Those two coins look allright. But it is true that there are some better quality fakes around. And even large international auction houses might sell some fakes. I have  had recently a lot of headache and some financial loss, got fake Li Yuan Hung with hat that was not genuine. But what really worries me - I could not see the signs of forgery myself, NGC gave not genuine label to it.

I picked this up at spot.  I need to send it in to NCS and get the two copper spots taken care of.

The final value in a recent auction (HA auction at H.K. 6/23/2016) for 1908 Empire dollar (L & M 11) NGC AU50 was $836.

https://coins.ha.com/itm/china-empire-dollar-nd-1908-au50-ngc-/a/3047-29014.s?ic3=ViewItem-Inventory-BuyNowFromOwner-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=12

The final value was $4,550 for 1910 Sinking tael NGC AU55(HA auction, Sept. 2011 Long Beach).

https://coins.ha.com/itm/china/world-coins/china-sinkiang-sar-or-tael-nd-1910-/a/3015-23938.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515#

NGC mislabeled this coin as 1905 Kann-1010. It should be Kann-1008. Recent research suggested this coin be dated 1910. HA had correct title for this coin. IMO, NGC also has over-graded this coin, since more than 10% of scales detail are no longer visible. The surface also shows many scratches. This NGC coin, IMO, be graded as improperly clean, XF-40 detail if it is genuine.

The pictures of your Sinking ration coin are not good enough to see the surface details. However, about 90% of scales in your coin are not visible, while the other part of the device surface appear to be reasonable fresh. This is troublesome.  The coin, if genuine, will be about VF.

I had a good week. First at my local coin show this weekend I found this gilded 1999 panda with the original box and coa.  I love this coin and it's making me think about doing a short set of the gilded and bi-metal pandas.
Second while I was in the big city I stopped by a shop that specializes in bullion. Thry had three half ounce pandas I left the 2013's as I didn't have enough cash and picked up this 2005.  Now I need help in deciding if I keep it in the omp or send it to ncs and ngc.

Dear tater, you might want to post in this thread instead: http://china-mint.info/forum/index.php?topic=1115.1350

as this thread you're currently posting in relates to Imperial & Republic coins.
