China Republic Brockage and Empire 10 Cash Coins
« on: July 24, 2016, 04:54:38 PM »
I have two coins I wanted to get your opinions on.  The first is what I believe to be a RoC 10 cash coin with a full mirror brockage.  However, I couldn't actually identify it from the one side, so I'm just guessing.

The other coin is a 10 cash "foo-kien" coin, maybe Y# 100 from the Standard Catalog of World Coins.  It looks to be in good shape to me, but I know very little about coins.

If anyone could help me identify/verify these and have any ideas as to relative values or other information, that would be extremely appreciated!  Thank you so much.

Hi Sabotai,

It's late here but here is my initial identification with links to related images and price lists:

China Republic, 10 Cash, Krauss Y-303.3, 1920
6 recognized variants:  Y-303, -303.1, -303.2, -303.3, -303.4 (Copper);  -303a (Brass)
Both coin faces are needed in identifying specific variants.

Imperial China Fookien Province, 10 Cash, Krauss Y-100 or maybe Y-100.3, 1901-05
4 recognized variants:  Y-100, -100.1, -100.2, -100.3
Copper composition,
I would hazard a guess of XF40-XF45 because of minor detail loss from wear.
