Were the Silver Panda egdes always the same?
« on: May 24, 2016, 08:12:13 AM »
I recently came across a bunch of fake silver pandas, easily recognized much thanks to SANDACs great comparison-post.

However, I wonder if someone knows if the edges have always been the same? With serrated edges that goes from left to right upwards on cross?

Some of the fakes had straight serrated lines... as shown on the photos. Anyone knows?

The reeding (lines) was straight until 2002 for most Panda coins. From 2002 on Pandas have diagonal reeding. The 2001D Pandas were the first with diagonals. 2001 Pandas without the D mark have straight reeding. (It was Panda Halves who pointed that out a long time ago)
