What Are they Worth (PRC CuNi from 80s n 90s)
« on: April 08, 2016, 08:26:00 PM »
I stumbled across these coins (virtually) and I wonder what they are worth. I do not collect these, but maybe someone here does and wants them.

While I try to contact the owner of these sets, which may or may not still be fore sale, would anyone be so kind as to provide an estimate of value?

Thanks, Mirkk!

First set is silver plated medals, in commemorating the centenary of the minting of machine made silver dollar. The mintage is very high, 50,000. The current fair value is about $20-$25.

Second set shows a package for specimen coins, in commemorating the date (March 12) of tree planting. However, the coins, IMO are BU. Somebody made a switch. The current fair value for BU set is about $8-$10. The specimen set will be about $800-$900.

Third set is 1984 proof set from Shenyang Mint, in commemorating the 35th anniversary of the founding of PRC. The current fair value is about $140-$170.

Fourth set is 1980 mint set in blue folder. The condition of coins in the blue folder is, in general, not as good as in the black folder. The price of 1980 black folder set was mentioned in the following thread. The current fair value will be about $650-$700 for blue folder.
