Please help me Identify Large Kiang-See 10 Cash Coin
« on: December 12, 2015, 01:37:53 AM »
Hello,

This is my first post so hello and thanks for the great forum.  I recently purchased a batch of coins and this large 10 Cash was among them.  I assume it is a fake but why make it so large compared to normal 10 cash?  It measures 38.5mm & weight is 18.2 grams. Sorry the pics are so big.

Welcome to the forum.

As you suggested, based on the diameter and weight, this is a reproduction. The rosettes at 3 and 9 o’clock for genuine coin are 5-petalled, not 6-petalled as your coin. The nice toning suggests this reproduction coin has been made long time ago.

Thank you for clarifying.  I have no idea how they could get such a nice reproduction so physically incorrect.
