The graded Geyuan silver medals currently on sale on eBay carry the "First Strike" label. If memory serves me right this is the first "First Strike" label designation for any of the Classic Garden medals. I understand that there may not be more than 50 of these so-labelled medals (PF69-70) and that they were farmed out to various sellers/high level participants in this medal program.

I also heard that the Geyuan medal was particularly difficult to make and more molds than usual cracked during the process. However, I need to have this confirmed. Anyone with more collaborating information?  N20

Anyone notice the markings between the 2 lower birds on the water?
They are on the die as well.

They are supposed to be the reflections of the pavilion. They do not look like such on the photo. Not sure how they will look in hand.

Ah, you are correct as usual.
Thank you.
I didn't notice them on the original etchings.

Yes. That's her.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teresa_Teng

Teresa Teng or Deng Lijun (January 29, 1953 - May 9, 1995). Born in Taiwan of mainland Chinese parents. Became a prolific pop and folk singer. Sang in multiple languages. Never performed in China due to politics but her music was also popular in China. A chronic asthmatic, died during an attack of the illness in Thailand either from the disease itself or side-effects of her medications.

fwang and poconopenn; you guys rock (with so much information). N31
Thanks!

Geyuan Silver Census is showing at NGC

Based on these figures, the PF70 silver medals (122) graded so far constitute 21% of the mintage (588). Not a bad figure especially as 36% (213 medals) of the total mintage has already been graded (by NGC). Although the relative number of new PF70 medals may decrease with additional medals being graded, the proportion will not fall below the current 21%. Good showing especially when compared to YMY.
