I believe I paid 800 yuan per set in 2006 in peking ,the 2000 set by far is the most sought after ,not too bad appreciation :) no ?
lets see what the expo coin does 8 years from now:)

As at now, nobody said that colored coins (in mint condition) are not beautiful. I don't know where you get that from. :confused1:

Those women colored coins are sure beautiful, but as a coin it is a waste as it is too small to admire the intricate details. Those colored stickers of women would be better off as large A3 size paintings/posters.

That was, 800 yuan for 4 colored coins, each would be about US$125 in 2006, as per your input. Now I found 1 ebay open auction item #371025142494 (ending 15 Apr 2014), offer 1 set of the 2000 colored coins of red mansion women for sale at US$768. Assuming if really sold, that would be US$192 as current value per coin, after 14 years of appreciation; which is kind of slow appreciation rate when compared to...

2013 EXPO PANDA MEDALS: (current market values within span of 5 months from Oct 2013)
1oz - PCGS MS70 - sold 22 Mar 2014 for US$850
1oz - PCGS MS70 - sold 08 Mar 2014 for US$888
2oz - unslabbed - sold 24 Feb 2014 for US$490
2oz - NGC M66 - sold 13 Jan 2014 for US$237

You mis-understood contrapunctus ,the sets where purchased in 2006 ,8 years ago NOT 14 ,THE PURCHASE PRICE; 800 rmb per SET ,the apx exchange rate in 2006 was 8.3 RMB TO 1USD  so less than 100 usd per set ........... oh and BTW they are not stickers ,and trust me the intricate beauty of these coins can be seen perfectly ,but beauty is in the eye of the beholder ,some folks find beauty in a milk stained medal with a decent design at best ,SOME DONT:) facts are very stubborn ..................

Color is a no-no in numismatics.

Contra,
little joke for you... ;-)
If color is a no-no.. Why do you collect the white painted 2013 Expo Pandas?

Whether it's 8 years or 14 years, red mansion women coins' appreciation rate is still slow. N7

Trust me, I never deny they're beautiful but they're beautiful in the "wrong way". N25

Haha, this is funny. Because the expo pandas are not color coins. White paint or white stains or white sticker? You can't seem to differentiate. N16

Wrong, when it is MS70 it was sold for US$800+. And that is only 1oz.

Surely US$140 is not the mint's issue price.
