A few of the actual mintages match the planned mintages. Is that because for those numbers actual mintages are not known?

IMO, the actual mintage of 1997 1/10 oz gold is definitely lower than planned mintage of 5,000. The actual mintage of 1996 1/4 oz Platinum should also lower than the planned mintage of 500. Current value of 1997 1/10 oz gold is about twice of other 1/10 oz gold unicorns. The 1/4 oz platinum is priced more than 1 oz platinum currently, and both coins have the same planned mintage.

Market place also suggests that 1994 and 1995 1 oz silver unicorns may have an actual mintage higher than mentioned in those reference books. Majority of  1 oz silver coins with mintage less than 5,000 are valued more than $1,000 in the current market while these two coins are still less than $1,000. Time will tell if those actual mintages are real.

Thanks for the info, poconopenn.
Yes, according to the friends here the 1/4oz 96 Pt should be less than its 1oz counterpart.
Re actual mintage, we may use it for reference only and understand there could be difference for such estimation.
