So it is overpriced.  Picture doesn't even show all 149 coins.  It's also not very clear.  Can't make out much of the varieties but I see the 98 is a small date. I don't think he really intends to sell it on eBay.  Just advertising.

$190,751USD is for the BU
$285,000USD is for the 1982-2011 NGC MS69

You'd expect the NGC MS69 set to be more, but I'm not sure how much more would be reasonable.

Yes, he's probably just using eBay to advertise for an off-eBay negotiation

You have to understand the definition of a master set when comparing prices.  Typically a master set is 1982-2016 in ms68 quality+.  Also the prices quoted for a master set can vary depending on what price you are asking for, dealer bid price, price dealers sell price, bank sell price, etc.

In May/June 2008 I bought 2x complete MS69 set from 1982-2008 (1 set per year) for $90K/each. That turned out to be reasonably good investment, even though a year earlier the set could have been put together for around $50K.  Demand for master sets has been around for years and it won't stop until all key 1994-1999 coins are placed in these sets, then different set configuration will be demanded, maybe 2001-2015.

Interesting comments. Not sure how long it will take for those 1994-1999 key dates to dry up.

This NGC MS69 master set (1982-2011) has been available on eBay in the US (and likely worldwide) for months.  Apparently, $285,000 is too expensive?  :001_smile:

I see the listing has been updated to include four extra years 2012-2015.  That is 4 x 1.9oz x $1270 = $9652 worth of (graded) extra gold.  Current price for it all is $309,000.  An extra $24K for 2012-2015 seems a bit high, so it looks like the overall list price was inched up.  It may not mean anything since it is probably listed high just to get people to contact him for an off ebay sale, but nonetheless it is interesting to watch these things.  I gather that you could assemble a master set now for much less than when things were hot five or six months ago.

I would be curious what today's price is for the non-NGC MS69 master sets.

But it's just listed, not sold.
