$2900+ In China
http://www.ebay.com/itm/China-2016-50g-800yuan-gold-panda-coin-with-coa-and-box-/371580666469?hash=item5683ef0265:g:S7cAAOSwr7ZW7~QJ
$3400 In USA

what you guys think? too much premium? or good buy?

depending on the grade, (looks to me like PF 69s from MCM auctions are reflecting price close to omp) looks like below 2800 so at the time of this writing, 3400 was not a great price.

Thanks but no thanks on that premium - I wouldn't pay that.  There are gold pandas for which I'll gladly pay a big premium - that's not one of them.   Mintage is more than high enough to warrant patience for a coin like that.    Besides, just think of all the Jean-Paul Hevin macarons you can buy with $3390....

Any changes to peoples assumptions bout this coin? I wanted to start collecting them, but I'm holding a bit back because of the price, even after it has gone down in Europe. However, looking at the grades these gets, a PF70 demands 3 coins to be sent in order to have a fair chance of PF70. Approx. 30% of the coins get PF70....it might have been 2016 was a poor year, but does this change the game if I collect only PF70?

If I reconsider I'm planning on having a 100 gr 2016 PF70 instead, and quit there...only having the first metric year and then go for normal pandas. At least it will save me some money. I usually collect the australian lunar series, so China is not my main area.
