Hello,
Both Liao and Xi (Western) Xia Dynasties produced coins with the legend Tian Qing Yuan Bao. What are the characteristics that distinguish between coins made in these dynasties?

Iron coins were made in the Xi Xia Dynasty but not the Liao Dynasty. And one authority notes that Xi Xia coins are generally better made than Liao coins. So here are two bronze examples and one iron example found on recent auctions. What does one look for?
