Coin Facts Wiki shows a circa 1898 Szechuan silver dollar Y-238 L&M-345 from Ponterio 2011 auction

But the machine equipped mint didn't open until 1898. If a 1897 silver Szechuan dollar proof exists, it had to be struck somewhere else. General issue of Y-238 dragon dollars began in 1901.
