Title: website fake or real
Post by: Luna on May 26, 2014, 03:00:48 PM
Hello,

I was looking for ancient coins and came across this site. Was wondering if it can be trusted or if they are fakes.

Thank you.

The web site is real but the vendor carries many replica coins that differ from real coins in some detail. Making inexact replicas probably evades prosecution from counterfeiting. Web traffic monitoring sites show this site, for whatever reason, periodically disappears and reappears.

For example there is a coin with 1927 Sun Yat-Sen Yuan obverse and a 1912 reverse.

The source of a Republic of China 1937 2 jaio (20 cent) listed on eBay was traced back to this vendor. China made 2 jaio with 1936 and 1938 mint dates but none with 1937 mint date.

If authentic coins are available from it, disclaimers of authentic or replica are not plainly stated. As always, "Let the Buyer Beware."
