Knowledge is priceless; this book at one glance already justifies the price paid to get copies here in the USA!
I am already seeing interesting stuff; information that could take a while to pick up from the streets, so to speak.
I wish they had more English content and hope that future editions will improve on that. There were also many areas where the actual mintage of coins was not stated with this becoming virtually absent from the 2007 data onwards. Again, hoping this gap is filled in the definitive edition of 2018. It will be interesting to see how many coins were actually minted in recent years in case there are surprises!
It is not always about making money or gaining strategic advantage over others but you could get lucky! However, I believe the best attribute of this book is that it provides a lot of basic numismatic information, most comprehensively of modern Chinese coins and medals released to date, as well as reinforcing what you already know, and unearthing quite a pile of previously unknown coins, for the newbies to feast on!
Thanks to the authors and well done!
A cap has to be doffed again at Mr. Peter Anthony for his pioneer work in this area as well as the Panda tomes of which we recently got another edition of.
