Would you willing to show hi-res side-by-side pictures of the fake and real ox for educational purpose?  I completely understand if you do not want to.

thanks WG , those tiger pictures tell the story as to how high quality the fakes are the ox and tiger 2009/2010 as everyone can see the tiger fake is pretty tricky IF you are after the tiger or ox my suggestion is to buy it from a reputable dealer who knows where he got it from or NGC graded better to pay a little more for piece of mind.  no one can give me answer as too why the ox is so expensive when it first was released with all the other ox lunar s on release it was $100 usd coin you could of bought them readily. then they disappeared. The plausible theory is 2009 was the change to the new design the mint did not know what the reaction would be so they did not make many .. they sold what was made and never minted more and went  on to the next year tiger more of the same not too many tigers made either. then the new design started to catch on they made plenty of rabbits, of course dragons arguably  being the most popular lunar ,snake plenty around ,now we come to the horse in color I think this is a sleeper year ,I bought and graded fans, scallops and colored went to sell them I was actually the first person to submit them to NGC and was having a hard time breaking even trying to sell them graded 69  ,fast forward 9 month,s the horses have doubled in value??

I was lucky enough to get one graded a pf 70  but it wont be for sale anytime soon
I am working on a 70 set of all the lunar 10 y starting in 2009, the only one missing so far is the ox round , no luck in my submissions so I will keep pleading for someone to sell me one . The tiger round was very very hard to find as well in a 70 and of course when I did the one package that ever went missing had it , I spent hours with the postal service to no avail, the actual ems driver had signed for it and knowone was able to do anything .. I figure either someone has a coin that is very very hard to come by or they broke it out of the slab and sold it at spot somewhere . Luckily someone dear had located another one which took over a year but I am very grateful. Some of these are very hard to get in a 70 and submitting them can get  expensive.

Yes , I think once and if I get the ox round it should be downhill from here as everyone seems to be getting the new issues graded so I dont even bother submitting them my self. I did submit most of the older ones and a few I bought with the silly color labels I will have to get reslabbed , Maybe I will wait though and get the whole set as consecutive numbers like mentioned earlier in this thread that sounds like a cool thing to do. I love the Chinese lunars and as some mentioned here I think there will be more interest in the future especially 70s but even 69s should pick up considering the high quality fakes out there.
As a side note JC i hope all is well with you and yours and I always enjoy your posts!
