What's been happening at the Chinese Coin Forum

It looks like forum traffic and problems come together. Interest in Chinese coins is growing, and so is our forum. We had over 500 new posts in October! Interesting forums get busy, and busy forums attract spammers. This is a problem our forum team must deal with on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the easy trick of banning the spammers had the unintended consequence of also accidentally banning many of our most knowledgeable and valued members! Oh no!

It seems that the spammers are using computers connected to publicly accessible locations like wireless hotspots, and they're also using cellular networks. If you had ever logged into the forum using ANY network that had been used by a spammer, you may have been accidentally banned along with the spammer. We have stopped using bans for this reason, and we think we have restored access for everyone who was accidentally banned. From now on, your Chinese Coin Forum team will be dealing with spammers the hard way - one at a time - so we don't have this problem again. You're worth it!

Some new accounts may have been accidentally deleted, and many people were banned for months before the problem was reported to us. If you have forgotten your password during that time, or if you have any other problem accessing the normal forum "PM" messaging system, please contact one of our team members using the email addresses here:

Chinese coins are one of the hottest areas of active research in numismatics. Several of our forum members have posted the newest research they have done on coins that were previously completely unknown to collectors, not just varieties! Many of these coins could be extremely valuable, and profitable, if you can get new unknown coins for your collection before everyone else discovers them and drives prices upwards. So, be sure to follow the forums closely in the coming months. The modern Chinese coin market is very active right now!

Take a look at a random selection of our most recent topics below:

I edited the post above to delete my email address so it doesn't end up in search engines and spam. It was my private email, so can't give it out publicly.
