Difference between Crown and Sovereign?
A:  Good old Internet...google and wikipedia  :001_smile:

Difference between Crown X#7b and Crown X#P17?
A:  Believe X#P17 is piedfort.  More research is required.  Weight, thinkness, edge (smooth or reeded), ...

Difference between Crown (Gold X#7c) and Sovereign (Gold X#8)?
A:  Don't have an answer yet.  More research is required.

Difference between Crown (Silver X#7b, Silver X#P17) and Sovereign (Silver X#8a)?
A:  So far, weight appears to be the big differentiator between the three (X#7b = "regular", X#P17 = piedfort, X#8a = 4.4199g).  More research is required.

I'm hearing from multiple people that the weight is inconsistent and can be plus/minus 0.2 to 0.7 gram even for the same medal.  Example, one X#7b medal could weight x.2 grams and another X#7b medal could weigh x.9 grams.

Given the nickel and silver appears to be very similar, anyone know the silver content of X7B?

If X7B is produced via spec according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_(British_coin), then it is mostly to be 0.50 silver composition?  Then what is the other 50%?

For X7A, what percentage each is Copper, Nickel, and Zinc?

Any comment on why one is stamped with "TM 375 for 9ct"?  Is it after market?

Is this medal considers as an official government minted medal?  If not, is there such a thing as after market?

I didn't find this medal in Krause catalog. The Krause catalog I read is "World coins 1901-2000, 40th Edition".
Is there any other Krause catalog have the record of this medal? Thanks.

Nice~ I'll purchase it and take a look.

I'm looking for the catalog or book which contains the record of Hong Kong's tokens. Hope this catalog contains tokens information as well.

I do not recalled the book contains many information on HK tokens.  It has been a while so who know what the latest book have.

Found the pictures (Gold Crown) on the net.  Figure I included them in this post.
