Yuan Shih Kai Dollar
« on: August 05, 2012, 08:18:15 PM »
Hi everyone, I was recently cleaning up the house when I found three yuan shih kai coins. I don't know much about chinese coins, but one of them is from 1920 and the other two are from 1921. I was wondering if anyone knows whether they are genuine or fake, and would they be worth anything. I would be very grateful if you could comment on these coins, thanks cc9  :001_smile:

Thanks a lot for your quick reply, I had sneaky suspicion that these were fake. Are there any parts of the coins that you can tell that they are fake, Im getting in to collecting coins myself and want to easily identify fakes.  Thanks dragondollar  :thumbup1:

Well, compared to genuine coins, they have very poor details. The rims are also very irregular. These are really low grade forgeries, if you see genuine dollars often enough this kind of fake coins will stick out like a sore thumb.
