I think it would be a very interesting show to attend this year.  I wish I could be there.  Be sure to give us an occasional report.  No detail is too small, as we'd like to get a sense for how well the show is attended, what coins seem to be in short supply, what buyers and dealer are asking for, etc.  Enjoy!  Thanks.

The gold pandas seems to be doing pretty good, but can't say for the others. Those that are graded below 69 is just simply taking a beating, makes me wish I never sent some of my coins to be graded, leaving it in OMP actually fetch much higher prices.

NGC is shooting their foot by giving out so many sub69 grades recently and increasing NCS fees.  You can see lots of gold Panda with big red spots and only graded 67.

Nothing really excited except few keydates.  Proofs are still making new lows.

The post 2000 are doing better,  and i think the recent tax cut was the reason. But pre 2000 non gold like platinum and palladium is doing TERRIBLE.  

Lunars are hardly making a come back. The gold ones is steady IMO but the big silver, dammmmm just awful.
Overall the 69's are doing good, but OMP is simply matching the 69 prices. If you grade and fail to get a 69 you are officially screwed. Comparing a OMP with anything lower than a 68 is simply incorrect as in many cases the OMP outperform the 68 grade by a pretty big margin. Also PCGS needs to step up their pace fast, their reputation doesnt seems to make any progress in catching with their rival NGC.

Possibly someone thinks this coin can move up to 69 as a re-grade. In Singapore a dealer asked me to look at one gold Panda that's in a 67 slab. The coin is flawless except for a very slight amount of haze in the fields. If NCS can remove the haze it's a 69, or even 70 candidate. That's a 67 that could bring a high price, but the dealer will send it in to NCS himself as he and I discussed.

2001 1/2 is a sleeper.  Fewer in 69 than might be expected, last time I looked.

Now that the 2001  1/2oz was outed, perhaps only one real sleeper remains....

There are about 100 graded 1/2 with NGC
There are about 50 graded 1oz 2001 D's
And ONLY 32 graded 1/2 2001 D
there are 58 S10Y small D's already with 54 in 69 and a few 70's

Agreed, GDG, pretty scarce coins, the higher- graded 2001-D.  I like them, they are some of my favorites. But it's pretty well-known as scare and its pretty expensive, so I don't consider it a "Sleeper".  But the recognition of the "Low D" and "High D" varieties may make it a "Sleeper" soon.

The 2001 have been the lowest priced of the early 2000 coins, and the 1/2 especially underappreciated and undervalued..until now. They lagged the 2000, 2002, and 2003 by quite a bit in price until just recently despite similar numbers of 69s.

But there is at least one gold panda I have seen which is so far a lot scarcer, and surprisingly off the radar completely, and low priced. Overlooked and undergraded and underappreciated, and maybe it'll stay that way for a while.
PandaCollector's new book may mention it.

A 5 and 10 yuan platinum pandas in omp did very well along with a 2003 1/2 gold panda MS69 ($2200)
